Echocardiography and point of care ultrasound use in the ICU is rapidly becoming an area of significant interest to all ICM physicians. 

In the UK accreditation in ICM focused echocardiography is currently via a number of different routes, although more recently, the ESICM have introduced a formal diploma qualification.
